Once the bug bites..
As i said in my previous post, Team RECM Specialized’s Ariane Kleinhans and Annika Langvad received more than 1hr penalty on Stage 2 for taking a wrong turn and not seeing the marked boarder..
I said that they would come back very strong over the coming days..
However they came back in Stage 3, and absolutely slaughtered the field..they made up more than 1hr..and lead the overall female category by more than 9 minutes…
Let me explain the magnificence of this ride….they were down by an 1hr…they didnt moan or cry about it…they got back up…made up the difference in time and put in an additional 9minutes…
This ride proves pure determination and willing to succeed at all costs…its not to say that all the other female riders in this group are weak…there are very strong riders in this field.
They have a goal in mind, and thats to win…and they will succeed with anything thats thrown in their pathway.
They could of easily given up…and enjoy the ride..anyone would of thought that there is no way anyone can make up an hours difference, let alone in one ride..
Yet they put there shoulder to the wheel and won against all odds.
This is mountain biking…against all odds, you can come back and put time into anyone…its pure power and grit…so different to road riding.
They still have a couple of days to race….anything can happen…
